Hey.
A short story of mine was just published by Major 7th Magazine. Here’s the link.
The magazine asks authors to write a piece (of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry) that in some way is loosely attached to a song of their choice.
The song I chose was "Still Crazy After All These Years" by Paul Simon originally recorded in 1975 (here’s the studio version, and here’s the much cooler live version in Central Park from 1981.)
To me, the song falls neatly into the category of songs disguised as a love song — it is more about the narrator’s feeling of aporia (similar to the kind I write about in the last post) as he reflects on his life and the ways in which he is hopelessly incompatible with the world around him.
If you read it, let me know what you think.
Thanks!
